You know your imagination is too active (or perhaps starved) when you make up approximately four hundred fanfics in your head in the span of a month. And worse, most of them are Mary-Sues.
Par example, I came up with these plot outlines:
-(KH2) Axel hooks up with Nobody (OrgXIII) version of Emelev for whatever reason, there is tension within group because of Mary-Sue-esque attraction to “Melexev” by many Org members (most notably the villain-turned-grey-character Luxord). Blech.
-(KH2) Braig hooks up with some lab technician named Kylie, then turns into a Nobody out of…grief or something and later meets up with her. Blech again.
-(Soul Calibur) High school version of Soul Calibur story, follows vague reenactment of my excitement toward Homecoming by having Cecelia want to go with Mitsurugi…but then branches off into traditional misunderstood love story with traditional realization of feelings at a dance. Caprice and Siggy are completely out of character.
-(FFVII) Post-AC life story of Reno and Keia, who inexplicably live together. This one ranges from horribly dramatic and out of character to fairly decent amusing storyline that is plausible. The fairly decent one is just fun to reenact because it’s so…plain. Just living life. That one’s fine. Dramatic one is stupid and involves Hojo coming back to life, Keia being kidnapped, Reno mysteriously disappearing, people getting married, people getting horribly injured, etc., etc. Or any combination of those, actually.
-(Original) Following interactions of Tek and Lakai in Miles 7. Not bad, pretty good inspiration, actually.
-(Original) Following Lakai and Noirei’s struggles for the 17 years pre-Miles 7. Also pretty good, nice for character development in that period (since it’s not covered in Miles 7…yet).
-(Original) Plotting story of Calen and company. Mostly just covers character development, but good for said development.
-(KH2) Similar to high-school-Soul-Calibur, this one follows Em’s high school adventures with Zell, Hayner, Pence, and Olette (she goes to school with them for some unexplored reason along the lines of “kids from Hollow Bastion have to go to school in Twilight Town…because there’s no school in Hollow Bastion” or some such convenient nonsense). Also covers Homecoming excitement with misunderstood relationships (with Zell, by the way). Not too horribly out of character, but the whole school thing is a little shaky.
-(KH2) Horribly dramatic attack on Em by Saix. That’s pretty much it. Actually, this one covers horribly dramatic attacks by Saix, Nobodies, Heartless, accidental Gummi Ship crashes (that one goes partially into the KH2 doujinshi floating around in my head), and so on and so forth. Em usually puts up a good fight with Saix and the Gummi Ship but no so much with the others. And all end up with her injured. And Cid is shown to actually care. Aww. Cheesy.
-(XS) Lana angsts over Tony. Little else. Tony sometimes shows feelings for her. D’aww.
-(XS) Lana gets inexplicably kidnapped by Margulis and dramatic things happen. This one came out of NOWHERE. Pellegri eventually sets her free out of pity. Ah, the torments of being an android. …Who is perpetually lusted after by Margulis? What’s wrong with my mind?
-(PotC) Weird Sarah – is – a – noblewoman – who – is – perpetually – disliked – and – ignored – by – her – family – and – subsequently – falls – in – love – with – a – mysterious – pirate – who – is – actually – Chess – and – who – convinces – her – to – join – a – pirate – ship AU thing. Completely bizarre. Amusement ensues when she dresses as a man, joins the Deathlily, and eventually she and Chess begin making out. Talia thinks Chess is gay because Sarah makes a convincing guy, I suppose. A little out of character for Talia, perhaps, but that’s the least of my issues with this particular little diddy. The best parts of this one are when Sarah is at a dance (reoccuring theme, friends!) and steals away (frequently) to speak with Chess. Strangely satisfying for the drama-thirsting soul.
-(PotC) Sarah is a pirate who somehow convinces Norrington that she is a noblewoman who was just kidnapped by pirates, they fall in love, she feels bad for lying, she later runs away leaving a note, tear tear, sometimes runs into Norrington in his Dead Man’s Chest incarnation and they have a relapse into love. Weird weird weird stuff, this one. Completely and utterly AU.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. That’s just recently! I swear my brain is suffering from a lack of proper romance and darkness…or perhaps too great a love of drama. It’s too bad I’m too ashamed of how Mary-Sue-ish these all are or else I would probably elaborate on some of the better stories. Ah well. In my brain they shall remain.
(La, but I am a poet and you did not know it!)
