Terror and Fright

November 15, 2008

Alright, I haven’t had dreams in a while, but last night, I had the CRAZIEST ONE EVER.

Okay.  It was set in some kinda crazy, Second Life/.hack-esque place where people are in a video game…but it’s a lot like real life.  And whatever happens to them in the game actually happens to them.  So first, I was at some kind of craft thing.  It was in this long, white room where there was a round table, and there were shelving units along the sides of the room.  Anyway, we were making…origami?  And David was there and, since he could make some kind of awesome airplane out of paper, he was being a jerk about being so awesome at it.  Then it gets all foggy ‘cuz I don’t remember exactly what happened…

Aaaand then suddenly I met up with Finley and we decided to go upstairs in this crazy building.  People were all over the building, just…y’know, painting, and playing guitar.  One girl, however, was…playing with knives?  Yeah.  Anyway.  As we were ascending the stairs, we passed this one window where one could see outside and I thought I saw, like, Evrae.  It was super weird.

So I guess I had played this game and had issues with it before, like glitchy problems like in .hack//INFECTION?  I think I must have taken Finley with me to the top of the building ‘cuz I was freaked out about the glitchiness.  Anyway, we’re at the top of the building…and all of a sudden, the lights start flickering.  Silent Hill-style.  And I flip out and grab Finley’s arm and, y’know, shout about it going all glitchy and say we have to get out of there NOW.  So we start running down this really long hallway back to the stairs we just ascended, and then the lights die and when they come back, everything is dark and messed up.  Not bloody and scary, like in SH, but…I dunno, grimy.  And poorly lit.  So we get down the stairs and all the floors we had passed are all screwed up.  There were people laying everywhere, furniture overturned…we passed the knife girl and she was lit by red and seemed really intimidating.  We passed the Evrae window, and it was outside all glitchy and terrifying and I had this crazy burst of terror adrenaline and ran down the stairs even faster.  I also told Finley we’d probably have to fight the thing later as a boss fight.

We get down to the bottom floor, where the long room was with all of the shelving units.  The room is, for some reason, smaller now, and the only way to get through it is to crawl over the shelving units, which are now covering the room in a haphazard way.  And there are people crushed beneath it, and in between layers of units.  So when you step on them, they’re…um…squishy.  And I turn to Finley and explain that we have to crawl over them to get to the door (he says he knows).  We get across the room and I see this severed leg as we cross over, really distinctive-looking, where it was…the the back of the leg and foot, and it was wearing a white sneaker…

We get outside finally and, for whatever reason, everything is okay now.  Nevermind that we just got out of a terrifying hellhole where everyone was dead and mangled and glitchy.  And Finley turns to me, holding this bottle of juice, and is like, “this isn’t apple-raspberry-cranberry juice, it’s apple-cherry-tootsie roll juice” and I’m like, “haha, that’s awesome”.  Then we run into this guy who looks like one of the cast members of Il Muto in Phantom of the Opera, and he sings for us.

Shortly after this, I woke up and looked down and on the ground…I swear to GOD I saw that distinctive, severed leg.  I freaked out and had to sit up, and then I saw it was just a few pieces of paper sitting next to a manilla folder with stuff in it.  I had to move the stuff so it no longer resembled a leg.  Soooo then I fell asleep again and had a continuation of the dream that I guess I kinda controlled.  There were suddenly three of those guys who sang for us, and they teamed up all of a sudden, posed like the Ginyu Squad, and then started fighting us.  Alllllright.

So yeah, WEIRD stuff.  Just had to write it down before I forgot.
